Fun and Games With Presidential Pardons

Today was the day the President participated in the light-hearted “turkey pardons”. While this is all in good fun, I couldn’t help but think of a few other, SERIOUSLY overdue pardons. So, while “May” and “Flower” (or as Vice President Cheney calls them, “Lunch” and “Dinner”) wing their way to DisneyWorld, safe in the knowledge they won’t be obtaining a crispy tan this year, let’s spare some thought for these people:

Lt. Col. Chessani, who, along with the rest of the Haditha Marines, was slandered in the public eye, adjudicated guilty of committing cold blooded murder of Iraqi civilians and his guilt proclaimed from the steps of the Capitol by Jack Murtha, thus denying Chessani his Constitutional right of innocent until proven guilty. Since Murtha’s proclamation, it has been proven the Haditha incident bore no resemblance whatsoever to the story published by written by Tim McGurk and published by Time Magazine, leading to the outcry and the false accusations–all in the name of slandering and libeling our forces by the MSM to further their agenda showing of our soldiers are nothing more than killing machines.

********************

Lewis “Scooter” Libby, sentenced for “lying” regarding the non-covert CIA agent Valerie Plame, when it was Richard Armitage who actually “outed” her. Libby was guilty of nothing more serious than mis-remembering. Victim of the Democratic Congress’ witch-hunt.

********************

Agents Ramos and Compean, sentenced to an outrageous term in federal prison for doing their job. Let’s not forget the prosecutor, Richard Sutton, gave immunity to the man shot in the ass by these agents–and that particular illegal alien drug dealer is 1) suing the US Government now; 2) disappeared and 3) finally was found and indicted this past week for committing the crime he was shot for by these agents–again. The crime? An illegal alien smuggling drugs across the border. And yet–the idiots in Washington think they can “recruit” plenty of border patrol agents for their immigration reform after treating border patrol agents in this manner.

********************

So, President Bush, how about some REAL pardons? For these men–victims of the dems witch hunts, guilty of doing their jobs, guilty of forgetting facts, victims of self-serving traitors such as Murtha?

Cut out the games–pardon these men. All of them, fully and completely. Then prosecute the real criminals–the 110th Congress, John Murtha, Valerie Plame, Joe Wilson, Richard Armitage and Richard Sutton.

Then and Now

Then and now. Two little words, yet a world of difference between them. The picture on the left is “Then”; the one on the right, “Now”.

A friend of mine sent me an essay on “Then and Now. I think it’s appropriate, particularly at the start of this holiday season when we as a country have so much to be thankful for.

Conservatives as a whole are at a point where we are completely disgusted with and tired of the liberal defeatists, the constant doom and gloom, the scrambling to spin anything positive into something disastrous, the treason, the praise of anything evil, wrong, wrong-headed, the refusal to acknowledge anyone but they have rights (most particularly the right to an opinion different from theirs). We are tired of the treasonous congress. We are tired of presidential candidates who would rather appease murderers than fight to keep the country safe. We are tired of lies, scandals, pork. On and on, you name it, we are tired of the looney left and their attitude. As my friend Snooper says, the Conservative Tsunami is here. And the liberals are not happy.

Let’s throw them some more shovels to continue digging their Abyss of Obscurity. They obviously never learned the lesson, “When you find yourself in a hole, quit digging”. But then, as my friend Spree also says, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.” Right now, the scoreboard reads Conservatives: 41; Obscene Congress: 0. Insanely digging their Abyss even deeper.

As we come upon Thanksgiving, approach the anniversary of Pearl Harbor and enter the holiday season, here’s something to reflect upon, courtesy of Fossil:

Then and Now

Let’s face it–everyone is in denial. Our present course is going to take us straight down the drain, as with all the old Great Nations in history. We’ll wise up just before we get to the great falls, but it will be too late. The rowers can lay down their oars and let the current do the rest.

You’re not going to like losing.

President Bush DID make a bad mistake in the war on terrorism. The mistake was NOT his decision to go to war in Iraq. His mistake was his belief this country is the same one his father fought for in World War II.

It is not.

Back the, we had just come out of a vicious depression. The country was steeled by the hardship of that depression but we still fervently believed in this country. We knew we had elected our leaders; it was our duty to back those leaders. Thus, when the war broke out, we came together, rallied behind and stuck with our leaders, whether we had voted for them or not, whether the war was going badly or not. War was just as distasteful, the anguish just as great then as it is today. There were often more casualties in one day in World War II than we have experienced during the entire course of the war Iraq. That did not matter. We stuck with the President because it was our patriotic duty.

Americans put aside their differences in World War II and worked TOGETHER to WIN that war. Everyone, from every strata of society, from young to old, pitched in. Small children pulled little wagons around to gather scrap metal for the war effort. Grade school students saved their pennies to buy stamps for war bonds to help the effort. Men who were too old or medically 4F lied about their age or condition, trying their best to join the military. Women doubled their work to keep things at home. Harsh rationing, of everything from gasoline to soap to butter was imposed, yet there was very little complaining.

You NEVER heard prominent people on the radio belittling the President. Interestingly enough, there were no fat cat actors and entertainers who ran off to visit and fawn over dictators of hostile countries, complaining to them about our President. Rather, they made upbeat movies, movies still being aired today, and entertained our troops to help the troops morale. A bunch even enlisted!

Imagine this: School teachers actually began each day with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayers for our country and troops!

Back then, NO newspaper would have DARED point out certain weak spots in our cities where bombs could be set off to cause maximum damage. NO newspaper would have DARED complain about what we were doing to catch spies. A newspaper would have been LAUGHED OUT OF EXISTENCE had it complained German or Japanese soldiers were being “tortured” by being forced to wear women’s underwear, subjected to interrogation by a “woman”, being frightened by a dog, or lacked air conditioning.

There were a lot of things different back then. We were not subjected to a constant bombardment of pornography, perversion and promiscuity in movies and on the radio. We did not have legions of crackheads, dope pushers and armed gangs roaming the streets.

No, President Bush did not make a mistake in his handling of terrorism.

He made the mistake of believing we still had the courage and fortitude of our fathers and grandfathers before them. He believed this was still the country our fathers and grandfathers fought so dearly to preserve.

It is not the same country. It is now a cross between Sodom and Gomorrah and the Land of OZ.
We DID unite–for a short time–after 911. Our attitude changed when we found out defending our country would require some sacrifices.

We are in GREAT danger.

The terrorists are fanatic muslims. They believe it’s okay, even their DUTY, to kill ANYONE who will not convert to islam. It has been estimated about one third–over 300 MILLION muslims–are sympathetic to the terrorist cause. Hitler and Tojo COMBINED did not have nearly that many potential recruits.

America is not at war. The military is at war…America is at the mall looking for bargains for Christmas.

We either win it or lose it. You’re not going to like losing.

Myth vs Fact-Part 155

Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. Abu Dawud 14.2477
Narrated Ibn Hawalah:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: It will turn out that you will be armed troops, one is Syria, one in the Yemen and one in Iraq. Ibn Hawalah said: Choose for me, Apostle of Allah, if I reach that time. He replied: Go to Syria, for it is Allah’s chosen land, to which his best servants will be gathered but if you are unwilling, go to your Yemen, and draw water from your tanks, for Allah has on my account taken special charge of Syria and its people.
