I Never Thought It Would Come To This!

I was raised to believe that all people living in the United States would be safe and secure in their homes, schools, temples or churches and businesses. But in the last few years it seems that is no longer the case. Especially for Jewish Americans.

We have witnessed an upsurge in the number of violent acts either committed against Jews, such as the attack in Seattle which the killer was given a mistrial. Or the attack on the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Then there was the group of American Muslims who planned a series of attacks on Jewish targets.

The authorities did a good job with those, but the Jewish community knows they and our elected leaders allow behavior such as this:

to occur without a word condemning it.

Once, in Europe, Jews finally had enough and took up the sword. American Jews have had enough it seems. They now know that the government will not protect them. They now know that they have to protect themselves. And they are doing just that.

Starting in late July, a group of Israeli combat veterans will be holding a training camp in New York to teach advanced self-defense techniques to Jews in U.S. communities. An increasing number of American Jews have expressed interest in the program following a wave of anti-Semitic incidents worldwide over the past year, organizers report.

The group calls itself Kitat Konenut New York – a reference to the “rapid response teams” active throughout Judea and Samaria. Rapid response teams in Israel, comprised of local civilians who are IDF veterans, have often been the first on the scene of terrorist attacks and other emergencies, and have prevented casualties.

It was founded in 2006 in response to a shooting attack at a Jewish center in Seattle, Washington. One woman was murdered in the attack, and several others were wounded.

The group is apolitical, and does not take part in demonstrations. “Our agenda is to protect Jews,” says group member Yonatan Stern.

However, the group does have a firmly held political belief. “We believe in the constitutional right to bear arms,” Stern says. Kitat Konenut encourages all American Jews to learn how to use weapons, and to purchase their own firearms for self-defense.

Sakharov Widow: World Ignores Shalit Due to Anti-Semitism

Not many of the readers of this blog will recognize or remember who Andrei Sakharov was, or his widow Yelena Bonner. Or what they did for human rights and freedom in the Soviet Union. Many say that the Soviet Union would never had collapsed but for the tireless work of that remarkable couple.

In the field of human rights, Yelena Bonner is not only an expert, she is one of the leading authorities. She speaks with the voice of the oppressed, having lived through the horrors of Stalinism and Soviet repression. There are very few in the world that can truly speak with such moral authority. Recently she gave a speech at the three-day Oslo Freedom Forum, a gathering in response to the Durban II conference. Here is some of that speech:

…At the age of 14, I was left without my parents. My father was executed, my mother spent 18 years in prison and exile. My grandmother raised me and my younger brother. The poet Vladimir Kornilov, who suffered the same fate, wrote: ‘And it felt that in those years we had no mothers. We had grandmothers.’ There were hundreds of thousands of such children…

…Read Sakharov’s Memoirs. It’s a pity his Diaries haven’t been translated; they were published in Russia in 2006. Apparently, the West isn’t interested now in Sakharov.

The West isn’t very interested in Russia either, a country that no longer has real elections, independent courts, or freedom of the press. Russia is a country where journalists, human rights activists, and migrants are killed regularly, almost daily. And extreme corruption flourishes of a kind and extent that never existed earlier in Russia or anywhere else. So what do the Western mass media discuss mainly? Gas and oil — of which Russia has a lot. Energy is its only political trump card, and Russia uses it as an instrument of pressure and blackmail… Russia will remain the way it is now for decades, unless there is some violent upheaval.

…They say people are coming together — but in reality, they are growing apart. And that isn’t because an economic depression suddenly burst forth, and swine flu to boot. [It] began on September 11, 2001. At first, anger and horror was provoked by the terrorists who knocked down the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and by their accomplices in London, Madrid and other cities, and by the shahids, suicide bombers who blew themselves up at public spaces like discotheques and wedding parties, whose families were rewarded $25,000 each by Saddam Hussein.

Later, Bush was blamed for everything, and as always, the Jews — that is, Israel… So it is about Israel and the Jews that I will speak… At one time, the Nobel Peace Prize was the highest moral award of our civilization. But after December 1994, when Yasser Arafat became one of the three new laureates, its ethical value was undermined. I haven’t always greeted each selection of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Storting with joy, but that one shocked me. And to this day, I cannot understand and accept the fact that Andrei Sakharov and Yasir Arafat, now posthumously, share membership in the club of Nobel laureates.

In many of Sakharov’s publications… [he] wrote and spoke about Israel. I have a collection of citations of his writing on this topic. If it were published in Norway, then many Norwegians would be surprised at how sharply their contemporary view of Israel differs from the view of Sakharov. Here are several citations from Sakharov: …

“All wars that Israel has waged have been just, forced upon it by the irresponsibility of Arab leaders.” “With all the money that has been invested in the problem of Palestinians, it would have been possible long ago to resettle them and provide them with good lives in Arab countries.”

…Now, a new motif is fashionable (in fact it’s an old one): ‘Two states for two peoples.’ It sounds good. And there is no controversy in the peace-making Quartet, made up of the U.S., the UN, the EU, and Russia (some great peace-maker, with its Chechen war and its Abkhazian-Ossetian provocation). The Quartet, and the Arab countries, and the Palestinian leaders (both Hamas and Fatah) put additional demands to Israel. I will speak only of one demand: that Israel accept back the Palestinian refugees. And here a little history and demography are needed.

According to the UN’s official definition, refugees are considered those who fled from violence and wars, but not their descendants who are born in another land. At one time the Palestinian refugees and the Jewish refugees from Arab countries were about equal in number — about 700-800,000. The newly-created state Israel took in Jews (about 600,000). They were officially recognized as refugees by the UN Resolution 242, but not provided with any UN assistance. Palestinians, however, are considered refugees not only in the first generation, but in the second, third, and now even in the fourth generation. According to the UN Works and Relief Agency’s report, , the number of registered Palestinian refugees has grown from 914,000 in 1950 to more than 4.6 million in 2008, and continues to rise due to natural population growth. All these people have the rights of Palestinian refugees and are eligible to receive humanitarian aid.

The entire population of Israel is about 7.5 million, of which there are about 2.5 million ethnic Arabs who call themselves Palestinians. Imagine Israel then, if another five million Arabs flood into it; Arabs would substantially outnumber the Jewish population. Thus, created next to Israel will be a Palestinian state cleansed of Jews, because in addition to the demand that Palestinian refugees return to Israel, there is also the demand that Judea and Samaria are cleansed of Jews and turned over to Palestinians – while in Gaza today there is not a single Jew already.

The result is both strange and terrifying, not only because Israel will essentially be destroyed… Because the plan “two states for two peoples” is the creation of one state, ethnically cleansed of Jews, and a second one with the potential to do the same thing. A Judenrein Holy Land – the dream of Adolph Hitler come true at last. So think again, those who are still able, who has a fascist inside him today?

And another question that has been a thorn for me for a long time. It’s a question for my human rights colleagues. Why doesn’t the fate of the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit trouble you in the same way as the fate of the Guantanamo prisoners?

You fought for and won the opportunity for the International Committee of the Red Cross, journalists, and lawyers to visit Guantanamo. You know prison conditions, the prisoners’ everyday routine, their food. You have met with prisoners subjected to torture. The result of your efforts has been a ban on torture and a law to close this prison. President Obama signed it in the first days of his coming to the White House…

But during the two years Shalit has been held by terrorists, the world human rights community has done nothing for his release. Why? He is a wounded soldier, and fully falls under the protection of the Geneva Conventions. The Conventions say clearly that hostage-taking is prohibited, that representatives of the Red Cross must be allowed to see prisoners of war, especially wounded prisoners, and there is much else written in the Geneva Conventions about Shalit’s rights.

The fact that representatives of the Quartet conduct negotiations with the people who are holding Shalit in an unknown location, in unknown conditions, vividly demonstrates their scorn of international rights documents and their total legal nihilism. Do human rights activists also fail to recall the fundamental international rights documents?

And yet I still think (and some will find this naïve) that the first tiny, but real step toward peace must become the release of Shalit. Release – and not his exchange for 1,000 or 1,500 prisoners who are in Israeli prisons serving court sentences for real crimes.

Returning to my question of why human rights activists are silent, I can find no answer except that Shalit is an Israeli soldier, Shalit is a Jew. So again, it is conscious or unconscious anti-Semitism. Again, it is fascism.

Thirty-four years have passed since the day when I came to this city to represent my husband, Andrei Sakharov, at the 1975 Nobel Prize ceremony. I was in love with Norway then. The reception I received filled me with joy. Today, I feel Alarm and Hope (the title Sakharov used for his 1977 essay written at the request of the Nobel Committee).

Alarm because of the anti-Semitism and anti-Israeli sentiment growing throughout Europe and even further afield. And yet, I hope that countries, their leaders, and people everywhere will recall and adopt Sakharov’s ethical credo: “In the end, the moral choice turns out to be also the most pragmatic choice.”

It is time for the world to stop trying to appease the Arabs and listen to the truth. The true obstacle to peace in the region is not caused by Israel, but by the Arabs, who couldn’t destroy Israel in battle and will attempt to destroy Israel through diplomatic means. And the world will let them. For it is acceptable to hate and despise the Jews. It is time for the world to listen to the voice of a woman who lived under some of the worst repression that humanity has imposed upon others. It is time to bring Gilad Shalit home.

When Alan Johnston went missing in Gaza on 12 March 2007, the world press went ape over it, demanding his immediate release. On 4 July 2007 he was released.

On 25 June 2006 Gilad Schalit was kidnapped. That was over 1050 days ago. There has been no word of his condition, no Red Cross visits, nothing. Just a handful of letters.

The world’s press silently applauds this action. After all Gilad is just another Jew. And Jews are the worst people on Earth to them. So what if he is never seen alive again.

The Obama administration doesn’t condemn this action. They reward it with a cash handout of $1.2 billion. Job well done?

But you have a voice. Let the Obama administration know that you do NOT support this action.

News of the following on line petition arrived by email: Condemn Anti-Semitism at UC Irvine. Even though I am sympathetic to the cause, and one of the early endorsements comes from a fellow blogger whom I respect and consider a friend, I am unwilling to endorse it.

The petition complains of a Muslim Student Union project: “Israel: The Politics of Genocide”, which is predicted will “demonize Israel and make false and hateful accusations against Israel and Jews”. The petition calls upon the Chancellor to condemn the event and its sponsor.

I believe that universities should be bastions of free speech and open debate, where all viewpoints can be aired, supported and opposed without fear or favor. Neither censorship, intimidation nor physical assault should be allowed on campus.

When deceptive propaganda is promulgated, it should be identified as such and refuted with relevant, verifiable facts. If bigots are invited to spew hatred on campus, their visits should be proceeded by exposure of their curriculum vitae including previous false or hateful expressions. Let debate be open, vitae and voluminous.

The Terrorism Awareness Project sponsors an annual Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. The attempts to censor IFAW expose the true bigotry, that of the Islam appeasing left wing.

When Israel is falsely accused of genocidal intentions & actions, these ahadith Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 6981… Book 041, Number 6985 offer an opportunity to rub the Muslim’s snouts in their deception.

Is the MSA anti-semitic? Obviously! After all, it is Islamic. Islam is intrinsically anti-semitic. Hatred of Jews is inculcated in the Qur’an and takes its ultimate form in the above mentioned ahadith, which indicate that the Muslims can not enter Paradise until they hunt down and kill the last remaining Jews.

Is the MSA a proponent of genocide? Obviously! Again, because it is Islamic. Allah places a high value on “great slaughter“, making it Moe’s price of admission to Paradise. Killing and wounding “many of them” is also prescribed as a prerequisite for holding prisoners for ransom. Moe’s genocide against the Banu Qurayzah is exemplary. I assume that the critics of the MSA are unwilling to mount a direct frontal assault upon the real evil because they are loathe to be branded “Islamophobes”. A petition condemning an Islamic organization should clearly state the real reasons for condemning it, and present the relevant evidence, without reservation.

Durban II draft document getting worse.

I told you so President Obama. The second Durban Conference on bigotry and racism will be worse than the first.

Not only is Israel the only nation singled out for attack, but the idea of Free Speech will be destroyed too when they meet in April and force the world to accept as International Law that any criticism of Islam is a crime.

The draft document for the United Nations anti-racism conference, dubbed Durban II, is problematic both for Israel and western democracies in general, Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva Roni Leshno Yaar told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

Besides issues relating to Israel, the draft has problematic paragraphs regarding free speech, defamation of religion and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, he said.

“At this stage it is not possible to say what in the text would improve, if at all. In fact I expect the text to get only worse on all issues which are important for western democracy,” Leshno Yaar said in a telephone interview from Geneva.

He spoke as representatives from 190 nations have been meeting in Geneva to debate the language for a document in which Israel is alluded to as a “racist” and “apartheid” power.

The final draft will be presented at an April meeting in Geneva, which is the follow-up to the 2001 UN World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, which took place in Durban, South Africa.

Israel and the United States walked out of the 2001 conference to protest its disintegration into an anti-Semitic and anti-Israel hate-fest. Israel and Canada have already announced they do not intend to participate in this April’s conference in Geneva.

On Friday, the State Department stated that it had gone to the preparatory meetings in Geneva “to work with countries that want to achieve a successful review conference” and added that the United States had “strong reservations about the direction of the conference, as the draft document singles out Israel for criticism, places unacceptable restrictions on freedom of expression under the guise of defaming religion, and calls for payment of reparations for slavery.”

While in Geneva, US representatives met with 30 national delegations to outline their concerns.

The Americans were present but did not appear to have made improvement in the document, which he said “is getting worse every day.”

Irwin Cotler, a Canadian MP and former justice minister, told the Post that the conference had been initially designed to speak about global issues relating to racism without singling out any country or group.

Israel was the only country that was alluded to in this way, he said.

I have been sitting in front of my computer for the last week wondering what the hell is going on with the world. Each day I see more and more evidence of the hatred and bigotry associated with “The Religion of Peace”, and not one elected official or member of the media speak out in horror of what they have seen and heard. Their silence is deafening.

The supporters of murderers take to the streets and the media covers them. What they don’t show the public is the level of hatred that these hordes spew at all times. Scenes like this do not make it on to the nightly news:

I could post hundreds of videos like these, but you get the point. The world does nothing to counter this. And it frightens me.

I know this frightens many elder Jews. Men and women who suffered the horrors of the Holocaust. They remember how that started, they remember the songs and chants of hatred, and where it led.

The Holocaust didn’t start with Dachau and Auschwitz, it ended there. It didn’t start with World War 2, that war ended it. It started with an idea. That was all. An idea to rid the world of all people who were Jewish. How they did it is a lesson in hate. It happened in 4 stages.

Stage 1:

Propaganda

It started first with a media campaign. With cartoons and articles depicting Jews as less then human. The Nazis had to win over the hearts and minds of the German people. And it was through the media of the time: Print, radio, and film that they were to accomplish it.

A fine example of media manipulation by the Nazis.

As you can see by the above example, Jews are depicted as lazy and unGerman. Exactly the idea the Nazis wanted to show.

And in today’s media anti-Semitic cartoons are again being shown. Not just in the Muslim world where they are acceptable, but here in the United States and in Europe.

This one was printed in many major newspapers in the US, Canada and Europe.

Already the media has joined the bigots in their campaign. The print media has already started the process in 1990 and the rest of the media (Conservative radio withstanding) is jumping on the band wagon. It is already to blame Israel and more importantly Jews for all the evils in the world. That is the message the majority of people in the West are hearing day and night from the media. It is becoming their mantra, their motto. And the majority of people in the West are like sheep. They are easily led and manipulated.

Stage 1 is well underway. On to Stage 2.

Stage 2:

Protests and Riots

Stage 2 is the “People’s Uprising” part of the operation. In this supposed average citizens (and in the case of German: Brownshirts) take to the streets in protests. These protests get more and more violent over the weeks, months or years, culminating in the ultimate protest of all: The Riot (in Germany Kristallnacht).

Again we are seeing the middle part of Stage 2. So-called “citizen protests” in every major city in the world. Many are turning violent. In London and Paris there have been riots.

This is just the beginning. The protests all over the world will get more and more violent and will be attacking more and more Israeli and Jewish businesses and people.

Governments will have to cave into the demands of the rioters in order to have peace. There is just one problem. Their demands lead directly to Stages 3 and 4.

By this time the government is able to start their “Final Solution” without any subterfuge. They will eliminate the rabble crowd from public view (In Germany Hitler destroyed the Brownshirts) and can operated openly with public support in many cases.

Stage 3:

Deportation

The government will begin the round up of their Jewish population to place them in safe areas. This now can be done openly and with great fanfare if the government wishes. The people will be placed in special areas with a city (as in the Warsaw Ghetto) or special areas in their nation (as in various Indian Reservations or Japanese Interment Camps). If people complain about it, they either mysteriously disappear or are brought up on false charges. If a group starts to complain about what is happening, they are reminded that these people are being relocated for their own protection.

The majority population either doesn’t care or is openly supportive of the action being taken.

Sometimes governments stop here. They either do not have the immorality in them to take the last step, or enough public outcry stops them from taking the last step.

Stage 4:

Genocide.

It is a very small step to go from the rounding up of people to the mass execution of people. A very small step. This step is normally done without the public’s knowledge and with a total or almost total media blackout. For if the general public ever found out about the slaughter of innocent people, they would be so horrified that they might not be easily controlled by the government.

In Turkey the government rounded up millions of Armenians and slaughtered them by shootings, starvation, and illness.

In Germany at the start of the Holocaust, the Germans had a 2-fold idea. Starvation and mobile killing units (Einsatzgruppen). This units would dig a big ditch or pit, have the Jews rounded up, many times they would force the people to strip, then line the up and shoot them. At Babi Yar more than 34,000 men, women and children were murdered over a 2 day period.

But that was too inefficient and slow. The final step in the perfect genocide is the creation of “special death camps”. Places where the only object is to kill your fellow man. The names of Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibór, Bełżec, Chełmno, and Majdanek jump out at you. They speak of untold horror and death. They are the end result in what started with Stage 1.

Already we are seeing the first 2 stages of the road to genocide being played out in the world. There is the media accepting as truth the propaganda and lies coming from the Muslim world, accepting without any questions. And there is the “People’s Uprisings” being played all over the world. Already Stage 2 is progressing to riots and beatings. If left unchecked these riots will become worse and there will be murders associated with them.

And what do we have to combat it? Very little. We have bloggers who try and spread the truth about what is happening. We have a few conservative speakers on the radio trying to spread the truth. But we have mostly silence. Silence from elected officials too scared of those who are rioting to anger them further and silence from the media, too afraid of losing their viewers. And thus has begun.

I know many voices on the right who claim that this cannot happen again, that they will not allow it. But how many of them would actually lay down their lives to prevent it? It is one thing to say you will not allow it, but another to actually have to take a stand and prevent it.

Each day I am reminded of the words of Edmund Burke, 1729-1797, British statesman and philosopher, who wrote:

“Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.”

I pray that this time the good men and women will do something to stop it.

I know this frightens many elder Jews. Men and women who suffered the horrors of the Holocaust. They remember how that started, they remember the songs and chants of hatred, and where it led.

The Holocaust didn’t start with Dachau and Auschwitz, it ended there. It didn’t start with World War 2, that war ended it. It started with an idea. That was all. An idea to rid the world of all people who were Jewish. How they did it is a lesson in hate. It happened in 4 stages.

Stage 1:

Propaganda

It started first with a media campaign. With cartoons and articles depicting Jews as less then human. The Nazis had to win over the hearts and minds of the German people. And it was through the media of the time: Print, radio, and film that they were to accomplish it.

A fine example of media manipulation by the Nazis.

As you can see by the above example, Jews are depicted as lazy and unGerman. Exactly the idea the Nazis wanted to show.

And in today’s media anti-Semitic cartoons are again being shown. Not just in the Muslim world where they are acceptable, but here in the United States and in Europe.

This one was printed in many major newspapers in the US, Canada and Europe.

Already the media has joined the bigots in their campaign. The print media has already started the process in 1990 and the rest of the media (Conservative radio withstanding) is jumping on the band wagon. It is already to blame Israel and more importantly Jews for all the evils in the world. That is the message the majority of people in the West are hearing day and night from the media. It is becoming their mantra, their motto. And the majority of people in the West are like sheep. They are easily led and manipulated.

Stage 1 is well underway. On to Stage 2.

Stage 2:

Protests and Riots

Stage 2 is the “People’s Uprising” part of the operation. In this supposed average citizens (and in the case of German: Brownshirts) take to the streets in protests. These protests get more and more violent over the weeks, months or years, culminating in the ultimate protest of all: The Riot (in Germany Kristallnacht).

Again we are seeing the middle part of Stage 2. So-called “citizen protests” in every major city in the world. Many are turning violent. In London and Paris there have been riots.

This is just the beginning. The protests all over the world will get more and more violent and will be attacking more and more Israeli and Jewish businesses and people.

Governments will have to cave into the demands of the rioters in order to have peace. There is just one problem. Their demands lead directly to Stages 3 and 4.

By this time the government is able to start their “Final Solution” without any subterfuge. They will eliminate the rabble crowd from public view (In Germany Hitler destroyed the Brownshirts) and can operated openly with public support in many cases.

Stage 3:

Deportation

The government will begin the round up of their Jewish population to place them in safe areas. This now can be done openly and with great fanfare if the government wishes. The people will be placed in special areas with a city (as in the Warsaw Ghetto) or special areas in their nation (as in various Indian Reservations or Japanese Interment Camps). If people complain about it, they either mysteriously disappear or are brought up on false charges. If a group starts to complain about what is happening, they are reminded that these people are being relocated for their own protection.

The majority population either doesn’t care or is openly supportive of the action being taken.

Sometimes governments stop here. They either do not have the immorality in them to take the last step, or enough public outcry stops them from taking the last step.

Stage 4:

Genocide.

It is a very small step to go from the rounding up of people to the mass execution of people. A very small step. This step is normally done without the public’s knowledge and with a total or almost total media blackout. For if the general public ever found out about the slaughter of innocent people, they would be so horrified that they might not be easily controlled by the government.

In Turkey the government rounded up millions of Armenians and slaughtered them by shootings, starvation, and illness.

In Germany at the start of the Holocaust, the Germans had a 2-fold idea. Starvation and mobile killing units (Einsatzgruppen). This units would dig a big ditch or pit, have the Jews rounded up, many times they would force the people to strip, then line the up and shoot them. At Babi Yar more than 34,000 men, women and children were murdered over a 2 day period.

But that was too inefficient and slow. The final step in the perfect genocide is the creation of “special death camps”. Places where the only object is to kill your fellow man. The names of Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibór, Bełżec, Chełmno, and Majdanek jump out at you. They speak of untold horror and death. They are the end result in what started with Stage 1.

Already we are seeing the first 2 stages of the road to genocide being played out in the world. There is the media accepting as truth the propaganda and lies coming from the Muslim world, accepting without any questions. And there is the “People’s Uprisings” being played all over the world. Already Stage 2 is progressing to riots and beatings. If left unchecked these riots will become worse and there will be murders associated with them.

And what do we have to combat it? Very little. We have bloggers who try and spread the truth about what is happening. We have a few conservative speakers on the radio trying to spread the truth. But we have mostly silence. Silence from elected officials too scared of those who are rioting to anger them further and silence from the media, too afraid of losing their viewers. And thus has begun.

I know many voices on the right who claim that this cannot happen again, that they will not allow it. But how many of them would actually lay down their lives to prevent it? It is one thing to say you will not allow it, but another to actually have to take a stand and prevent it.

Each day I am reminded of the words of Edmund Burke, 1729-1797, British statesman and philosopher, who wrote:

“Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.”

I pray that this time the good men and women will do something to stop it.

And The World Turns A Blind Eye.

In the 1930’s the world turned a blind eye on to what Hitler’s Germany was doing to its Jewish population. Anti-semitism was acceptable in all nations, and the majority of people in most nations wished they could do the same.

For it has raised its ugly head. Not only in Muslim nations where it is state policy, but in every nation in Europe, Canada and now the United States. Outside of Israel, there is no nation in this world that a Jew is truly safe.

Europe:

Assailants rammed a burning car into the gates of a synagogue in Toulouse, in southwest France, Monday night.

A Jewish congregation in Helsingborg, in southern Sweden, was attacked Monday night by someone who “broke a window and threw in something that was burning,” said police spokesman Leif Nilsson. And on Sunday slogans, including “murderers … You broke the cease-fire,” were daubed on Israel’s Embassy in Stockholm.

In Denmark, a 27-year-old Dane born in Lebanon to Palestinian parents is alleged to have injured two young Israelis last week in a shooting police suspect could be linked to the Gaza crisis. Belgium ordered police in Antwerp and Brussels to be on increased state of alert” Tuesday after recent pro-Palestinian protests ended in violence and arrests.

Jews in the small Strasbourg suburb of Lingolsheim in eastern France woke up Tuesday to find graffiti with words like “assassins” spray-painted on the outside walls of their synagogue. The community filed a complaint for “degradation of a place of worship,” the mayor’s office said.

Not being satisfied with just protesting, the anti-Semities are turning to looting after their “peaceful” protests.

Great Britain:

The number of anti-Semitic attacks in London has risen sharply following Israel’s land assault on Gaza, Jewish community groups said today.

Their leaders have compiled a dossier of attacks against Jews which will be handed to seniors officers in the Metropolitan police.

The attacks include claims of:

• An attempt to burn down a synagogue in north-west London.
• An assault on a Jewish motorist who was pulled from his car and punched.
• A gang of youths chanting anti-Semitic slogans as they tried to enter restaurants and shops in Golders Green.

The Community Security Trust, which is responsible for the safety of Jews in Britain, has also noted the emergence of anti-Semitic graffiti in Jewish areas across London.

Slogans sprayed on walls include: ‘Kill Jews’ and ‘Jews are scumbags.’

The trust has now logged 24 anti-Semitic incidents – most of them in London – in the past week. Police are said to be stepping up patrols in Jewish areas.

On New Year’s Eve, a man was pulled from his car just as he was about to drive off and assaulted by three men whom he described as being of Arab appearance.

The victim did not suffer any serious injury. The same night a gang of youths alarmed locals in Golders Green by trying to enter Jewish shops while chanting anti-Israeli slogans.

Joey Ben-Yoav, manager of nearby Met Su Yan, a kosher Chinese restaurant in Golders Green, said: “It was scary. They were waving flags and shouting. It felt like if we went out they would hit us or something.

‘They walked past a few Jews and just shouted ‘Jew’ at them. They did not look like they were in the mood for making peace.’

But I have come to expect that from Great Britain now. They are practically a Muslim nation with the implementation of Shar’ia Law, and no-go areas for Muslims only.

New Zealand:

A memorial monument to prime minister Yitzhak Rabin in Wellington, New Zealand was defaced with red paint during a demonstration on Monday against the IDF operation in Gaza.

According to Web site Stuff.co.nz, about 100 protesters converged at the monument in Lambton Quay, where Wellington Palestinian Group spokesman Don Carson criticized the lack of New Zealand government response, calling it weak and one-sided, and urged it to enter talks with Hamas.

“Let’s send a message to our politicians to damn well do something,” he said.

One of the demonstrators, Father Gerard Burn, then sprinkled red paint, mixed with a drop of his own blood, on the monument to mark the killing of hundreds of Palestinians and the seizure of their land.

Members of the crowd chanted “They kill, they lie but Palestine will never die”, “Allahu Akhbar” and “Free, free Palestine”.

I see the Catholic Church is back up to its usual anti-Semitic behavior. The old Kill the Jews chant will probably be standard in Father Burn’s church every Sunday now.

Canada:

Ontario’s largest university workers’ union is proposing a ban on Israeli academics teaching in the province’s universities, in a move that echoes previous attempts to boycott goods and services from the Jewish state.

The resolution, proposed by CUPE’s Ontario University Workers Coordinating Committee, is in protest against a Dec. 29 bombing that damaged the Islamic University in Gaza.

“In response to an appeal from the Palestinian Federation of Unions of University Professors and Employees, we are ready to say Israeli academics should not be on our campuses unless they explicitly condemn the university bombing and the assault on Gaza in general,” said Sid Ryan, president of CUPE Ontario.

The resolution is still being drafted but the union said it will seek to prohibit Israeli academics from speaking, teaching or researching at Ontario universities. The CUPE committee will distribute the resolution to its members at the end of the month.

It will be put to a vote at the committee’s annual conference in February.

Why does this not surprise me? Canada which prides itself on civil behavior has turned into a haven for hatemongers and anti-Semites.

The United States:

A bottle of flammable liquid was hurled at one of Chicago’s oldest synagogues, catching fire but not causing major damage.

No one was injured in the incident early Monday at Temple Sholom of Chicago.
Chicago police and the Chicago fire department are investigating the arson as a hate crime. No one was in custody Monday.

Police officer Daniel O’Brien says the fire burned itself out and never ignited the North Side building. He says investigators are working to get surveillance equipment from the area.

Roger Rudich, president of the temple, says the arson was unsettling but not damaging.

Rallies in Anaheim, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and other US cities.

I have strongly suggested to many different so-called action groups, that we immediately institute a program of visits to every synagogue in the USA, on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, and rise in each congregation and – in dignified firm and unemotional voices – repeat “STOP THE KILLING”– We need to go in groups of 3-4, to insure that we have 1 person as a defensive shield, and one as a video camera witness, recording everything.

Jews especially should be doing these actions. We will face harsh treatment, and possibly physical attack, but our message must be resolute and continue week after week.

I see no possible legal impediment to this. The public, and certainly Jews- cannot be barred from entry to the services, and it will be extremely hard for the Synagogues to enforce exclusion. If they do, we can speak on the front steps, on the street, in the parking lot.

The Jews of America must be confronted with their clear responsibility- far more than complicity-in the mass murders, occupation, and forced starvation of the people of Palestine.

And the MSM sees none of this, doesn’t report any of this, turns a blind eye.

In 1933 the world turned a blind eye when Germany slid down the slippery slope that led to the Holocaust. In 2009 the world is again turning a blind eye to anti-Semitism in their own lands. The media is giving approval for the rhetoric, the violence. The police half-heartedly investigate, and the politicians in each nation say nothing, do nothing to stop it.

And Jews around the world pray for this cycle to end.

But fueled by groups like CAIR, it will only get worse.
