Sex? I Could Have SWORN This Was About Personal Responsibility…

In perusing the headlines at memeorandum today, there was quite a bit of a stir about a comment Huckabee made regarding gays.

The comment causing such a stir from Meet the Press:

MR. RUSSERT: But when you say aberrant or unnatural, do you believe you’re born gay or you choose to be gay?

GOV. HUCKABEE: I don’t know whether people are born that way. People who are gay say that they’re born that way. But one thing I know, that the behavior one practices is a choice.

It’s very clear to me, in this instance, Huckabee is talking about personal choices and how one implements their own personal, behavior choices.

However, in an article entitled “No Sex For You”, author Steve Benen, guest posting at Washington Monthly, descends immediately to sex–he sets up the strawman Huckabee is telling gays they have to be celibate. To quote:

I see. So, Huckabee doesn’t actually care if someone is gay, he cares whether or not gays are celibate.

And here I thought his years of bizarre criticism of the gay community were a sign of intolerance. I’ve clearly misjudged him.

The comments section of this article get even sillier, with the “best” (tongue firmly planted in cheek) being this one:

You hit the nail on the head. I was wondering the same about mandatory English requirement everyone wants to impose on new immigrants. How free are we as a country if people have to be forced to learn another language?

Republicans love to talk about “freedom” but when you look at their policies you will quickly find out that they want to impose control on individual freedoms while liberating corporations from the burden of accountability. It boils down to freedom for the wealthy to do as they please.

Mike Huckabee thinks that God may have made homosexuals the way they are, and therefore, you’d best keep your legs crossed until death

and

For the record, shooting at reporters is perfectly cromulent behavior. Having sex with someone of the same sex as you? Awful. To be fair, Huckabee thinks all sex outside of marriage is sinful. He just doesn’t think homosexuals should be able to ever get married. At least to each other.

Unless they’re publicly fornicating, how does Huckabee determine what their chosen behaviors are? Or is it like that WMD thing, you make a guess, condemn, and punish on the basis of what the judges imagine?

So. We see how someone commenting on what a person chooses to do in their own life can be completely twisted to fit someone else’s agenda.

Nowhere did Huckabee take the comment to the sexual level. He was commenting on the choices people make–and putting responsibility for those choices squarely on the person themselves.

This is where the right and left have a significant divergence–the left has no concept of personal responsibility, no concept of personal accountability for their choices and actions. It’s always someone else’s fault: they were “born” that way, they “couldn’t help themselves”, they’re “sick” and need another pill, or whatever–anything possible they can think of to excuse their personal choices and actions and attempt to exonerate their personal responsibility for those choices and actions.

With today’s irresponsible MSM, however, we get half quotes, fake stories, lack of research, lack of follow through–but ultimately, the “lead” will always have something to do with sex. As it does here.

The liberals, the secularists, the atheists will continue to find a way to ridicule anyone of faith for their very faith. My belief regarding this is simply these people are afraid. They are afraid there is nothing else for them. They are perpetually angry because they know nothing else. They think life is supposed to be “fair”. Life isn’t fair. Anyone who states a truth, anyone who points out to them they and they alone are responsible for the choices they make in life, in any aspect of their lives, is going to be ridiculed.

And such we see here. I don’t agree with a lot of what has come out about Huckabee. However, I don’t see where he referenced a person’s sexual behavior. He was asked a direct question. He answered it–honestly–in that he doesn’t know if someone is born gay or makes that choice down the road. He followed up by stating a person’s behavior is that person’s choice.

Sex? This isn’t about sex. This is about choices made and acted upon. The left just can’t handle personal responsibility and being held accountable for their own choices. And so they have to set up a sexual strawman and fight that strawman.

Completely, utterly shameless, ridiculous and, frankly, nuts. They need to get some new mirrors, preferably mirrors not pilfered from the local carnival funhouse, but mirrors forcing them to face reality.

AFA Alert: Philadelphia Punishes Boy Scouts Because of Their Beliefs

This AFA Alert came to my email this week, and frankly, I’m disgusted.

I am so tired of the gay agenda, I just want to throw up. Are the assholes going after NAMBLA next, and try to force that down our throats as well?

Anyone who reads my site with any regularity knows I highly disapprove of the gay AGENDA. I have many gay friends, and they’re aware of my disapproval of their lifestyle choice. However, they are not militant gays trying to force an agenda down my throat and are respectful of my children. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE, FOLKS, and a big one. So I don’t want to hear any bullshit about homophobia.

Let me clarify my views–homosexuality is BIBLICALLY wrong. It is against God and nature. PERIOD. Trying to FORCE a GLBT agenda down my throat just pisses me off. Recent antics include the desecration and trespass at Most Holy Redeemer church in San Francisco, and now, we’re revisiting the Boy Scouts.

As a former scout leader and district commissioner, this topic is close to my heart. My son was a scout from Tiger through WeBeLo, and, unlike most parents who choose to use these groups as babysitters, merely dropping off their sons for the meetings and not participating, I’m of the mindset if my children are interested in something enough to participate then I owe it THEM to participate along with them. As a single mother, my son needed strong, positive male influences in his life (his father degenerated into a major drug dealer that took to robbing casinos in Vegas at gunpoint and rather than being held responsible, his family helped him escape to Australia).

Scouting and Altar Serving were activities my son chose. Again, I don’t want to hear any bullshit about the Catholic scandals–there’s more molestation taking place PER YEAR in public schools than transpired during the entire time frame of the Catholic scandals.

Because we’re Catholic, his packs were through his schools, first in Las Vegas and later where we live now, and both schools were parochial schools. The parents of my scouts were livid at the gay agenda being thrown around, trying to force BSA to accept gays against their founding charter. Then they were furious at the atheist scouts in California who wanted to be scouts but ignore the “God” provisions in the founding charters.

Just as a reminder:

“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.”

That’s the Scout oath. “God” is listed FIRST. Country is NEXT. “Morally straight” is in there as well, albeit last. So you have atheist scouts wanting to ignore the VERY FIRST PART OF THE OATH. Then you have gays who want to violate the very end of the oath.

God. Country. Others. Self. Principles this country was founded upon.

WHAT PART OF “OATH” DON’T THEY UNDERSTAND??? Why participate in an organization that was founded upon the basic principles of this country if they don’t want to honor those principles? And, more importantly, what part of “private charter” don’t they understand?

BSA isn’t supported by government funding. So, therefore, BSA doesn’t have to follow separate agendas to keep it’s funding.

Let’s have a little history of BSA, from Wikipedia (normally, I’m not a fan of Wikipedia, but their summation is pretty decent on this issue):

The BSA arose amidst concerns of the progressive movement in the United States from people who sought to promote the social welfare of young men.

And:

The progressive movement in the United States was at its height during the early twentieth century. With the migration of families from rural to urban centers, there were concerns among some people that young men were no longer learning patriotism and individualism. The YMCA was an early promoter of social welfare and other reforms involving young men. Robert Baden-Powell started Scouting in 1907 in Great Britain and the movement began to grow overseas.^[4]

In 1909, Chicago publisher W. D. Boyce was visiting London, England where he learned of the Scouting movement.^[5] Soon after his return to the US, Boyce incorporated the Boy Scouts of America on February 8, 1910.^[6] The YMCA became interested in the nascent BSA program and provided support. The first managing secretary was John M. Alexander, succeeded by Edgar M. Robinson, both from the YMCA. James E. West took over as managing secretary and later as Chief Scout Executive, beginning a long relationship with the BSA.

Hmmm…notice anything in those short quotes above? Like the term “PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT”? How about “SOCIAL WELFARE“? Let’s see what else Wikipedia has to say:

The stated objectives of the BSA are referred to as “Aims of Scouting”: character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Each of the programs of the BSA pursues these aims through methods that are designed to be appropriate for the age and maturity of the participants.^[7] One of these methods is the establishment of ideals.

The BSA lobbied the U.S. Congress for a charter.^[14] The Boy Scouts of America was granted a federal charter in 1916, now codified as 36 U.S.C. Chapter 309^[15], stating that their purpose is to,

“promote, through organization, and cooperation with other agencies, the ability of boys to do things for themselves and others, to train them in scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues, using the methods that were in common use by boy scouts on June 15, 1916.”

While the Supreme Court ruled in BSA’s favor regarding the gay agenda in 2000, once again BSA is under attack–once again from gays pushing their agenda, this time by raising the rent on the Philadelphia headquarters to an outrageous amount–and on a building BSA has occupied since the building was built. Interesting how the person pushing for this rent increase APPEARS to have pulled the rent amount out of thin air, possibly purposely intending it to be so exorbitant BSA can’t pay it (or, through moral integrity and the need to provide scouting services to many boys, WON’T), AND the charge is being led by someone who is openly gay himself.

Sounds like a personal vendetta to me. The more things change, the more they stay the same. 100 years ago, BSA was founded in its infancy stages to combat the progressive movement and social welfare. Listen to any of the dem presidential candidates, watch who our congress appeases and we’re right there again.

If I personally knew I had a scout leader in my groups who was gay, I would indeed bar him from participating in scouts in any capacity. Why? Because the boys in my charge are more important than a homosexual agenda. You bet it’s discrimination–discrimination in FAVOR of the children in my charge to keep them safe from a possible pedophile who’s trolling for victims through BSA. And, should I be imprisoned for protecting those children and discriminating against adult gays, so be it. The children are more important than appeasing an agenda espoused by less than 1% (gays number about 3% of this country’s population–I’m addressing militant gays pushing agenda’s here) of this country.

If the atheists and gays want a young boy association to prey upon, let them start their own, with a well-publicized agenda and charter so the parents who enroll those boys know what they’re letting their sons in for. Otherwise, STFU and get out of BSA’s business.

Live with the fact BSA DOESN’T HAVE TO TAKE JUST ANYONE AND IS ALLOWED TO BE SELECTIVE ON THEIR TERMS AND ACCORDING TO THEIR CHARTER.

Philadelphia punishes Boy Scouts because of their beliefs

The city of Philadelphia has decided to punish the Boy Scouts of America because it will not allow homosexuals to serve as Scout Leaders. City officials said they will charge the Cradle of Liberty Scouts Council $200,000 a year to use the city-owned headquarters. The Council was paying $1 per year (since 1928). The city owns the land on which the Council’s 1928 Beaux Arts building sits.

The city says it is charging the scouts $200,000 a year because the scouts discriminate against homosexuals. But the city finds nothing wrong with their discrimination against the scouts because of the scouts’ belief.

The action by city officials means that 30 new Cub Scout packs won’t be organized, and that 800 needy kids will not be going to the Council’s summer camp if the city charges them $200,000.

The Supreme Court ruled in 2000 that the scouts, as a private group, have a First Amendment right to bar homosexuals from membership. Philadelphia officials, in an effort to appease the homosexual activists, began searching for a way to punish the scouts. The rent increase was the vehicle to do that.

The Cradle of Liberty Council serves about 64,000 scouts in Philadelphia and its suburbs.

	Take Action Send an e-mail to Philadelphia officials protesting their discrimination against the Boy Scouts. Forward this to friends and family and ask them to send the e-mail.

MILLER ANNOUNCES IMMEDIATE AUDIT:

MARKETING POLICIES UNDER REVIEW

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented today on the latest developments regarding the league’s boycott of Miller Brewing:

“Today’s San Francisco Chronicle reports that at yesterday’s Folsom Street Fair, ‘couples led each other up and down the street with dog collars and leashes, men in thong underwear played Twister….’ There was also a man who was flogged to such an extent that ‘red lash marks covered his back.’ Other gay men decided to ‘walk around naked’ in front of women and children. In addition to the homosexuals who dressed as nuns—ridiculing the women who have given selflessly of their lives in service to the dispossessed—there was a female stripper who was hoisted in a cage over a Roman Catholic church (on a Sunday when Masses were being said). The lead sponsor for the incredible spectacle is the Miller Brewing Company.

“The response from Miller has been encouraging, though incomplete. The Milwaukee brewer issued a news release on September 26 saying it took exception to the use of its logo on an offensive poster mocking the Last Supper. Today, it extended its original statement by apologizing for the misuse of its logo, ‘particularly [to] members of the Christian community who have contacted us to express their concern.’ It also said, ‘We are conducting an immediate audit of our procedures for approving local marketing and sales sponsorships to ensure that this does not happen again.’

“We called Miller today asking for clarification of this statement, and we are pleased to note that a full-scale review of all its promotional policies is underway. It is not certain at this time whether Miller plans to sponsor events like the Folsom Street Fair in the future.

Accordingly, while we are not calling off the boycott, we are tabling a serious course of action that we were going to announce today. We expect that Miller will resolve this issue before too long.”

As shown in a previous post here, Miller has no problem acceding to the wishes of muslims, African-American clergy, lawyers and feminists. Apparently, it has a problem acceding to the wishes of Christians. The ad was not pulled prior to the event. Regardless of what Miller does now, the damage has been done–they have sponsored the deviancy of Folsom, even after being requested by many, many Christian groups. It shows where Miller’s priorities lie.

Folsom Street Fair, Miller Brewing, Nancy Pelosi: Purposeful Denigration of Christians

Isn’t this a nice picture? Look in the bottom left corner. See the sponsor there? That’s right, it’s Miller Brewing Company. Do you happen to be Christian? Do you happen to partake of Miller’s products? Do you like your beliefs being mocked in such a fashion? Or do you give a damn?

I personally don’t care what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms. I DO care when their private proclivities spill out into a public forum and their perversions and agendas are put on display for the world to see.

It’s easy to mock Christians and those with Judeo-Christian values.

Why?

Because Christians and those with Judeo-Christian values aren’t going to pay a visit to you and slice your head off because they don’t like what you say. No–we do things peacefully. Things like boycott. Raise a loud voice in protest. Bring such outrages out of the darkness and expose them for the filth they are. I don’t see anyone making a mockery out of islam, do you?

Why do you suppose that is? Because the freakin’ islamists get offended from CARTOONS–so these idiots go after the safe shock.

Now, if you lived in San Francisco and you knew this was the weekend this obscenity was going on, what would you do? Would you stay home with the family, maybe rent a few movies and just avoid it? Or would you have to go be titillated by the perversions?

Believe it or not, some people think it’s okay to take their children to this thing.

She’s an absolutely adorable child, wouldn’t you say? Obviously well fed, hair clean, a little bit of dirt, but then it’s in the middle of the day and children do get dirty throughout the day. Overall, a pretty well cared for child. Now, take a closer look. How has she been dressed by her parents? A beaded “collar” around her neck. “Goth” clothing. She obviously can’t believe what she’s seeing by the look in her eyes and her hand over her mouth–classic “OMG” reaction of adults–and perfectly mimicked by this innocent child.

Laura Ingraham has a word for this kind of child abuse. It’s called “pornification”. This child is being pornified to “accept” what she’s seeing as “normal” behavior amongst adults. And yes, it is indeed child abuse. There are many different forms of abuse and this particular form is insidious. Parents expose their children to this under the “guise” of being “open” with their children. Well, frankly, children don’t need this exposure. I don’t care how “open” parents want to be with their children, this isn’t open–it’s abuse.

So where does San Fran Nan come into this?

She was asked point blank about the issue. According to this article by KTVU.com:

At her Friday morning press conference, Pelosi was asked about the ad.”It’s a Constitutional question. It’s a religious question. It’s about as global a question as you could ask,” the House leader said. “I’m a big believer in the First Amendment. I do not believe Christianity has been harmed by the Folsom Street Fair.

Huh. Imagine that.

A poster that mocks DaVinci’s Last Supper, replacing the Bread and Wine with sex toys and replaces Jesus and His Disciples with half-naked, leather and bondage clad denizens. A group that villifies Biblical values–BECAUSE THE BIBLE EXPLICITLY CONDEMNS THEIR CHOSEN LIFESTYLE–misses NO chance to attack and mock Biblical values.

But Pelosi doesn’t think Christianity has been harmed. THIS is what we have as our SOH, ladies and gentlemen. A bitch who thinks nothing of killing babies on demand with her abortion stance. A bitch who doesn’t hesistate to use children to further her political aims. A bitch who claims to be a Christian yet refuses to take a stand for her belief. A bitch who also stands with Code Pink and their ideas that murdering troops is fine. A bitch who wants every single bit of your disposable income to facilitate her grandiose tax plans and socialization of this country. A bitch who espouses child abuse between abortion and allowing this deviancy to admit children.

By now, you may be asking why I keep harping on the children issue at this exploitive, deviant affair. Because of this little tidbit found here at CNSNEWS.com:

The Folsom Street Fair Web site says young people are welcome: “While we don’t have any age restrictions at the gates we do inform attendees of the adult oriented nature of our events.” The fair organizers say beer and liquor age restrictions are strictly enforced.

Now. Who foots the bill for this? The California taxpayers. Yep, every single one of them AND every person who visits California and stays in a hotel. So, even if you live a normal life and don’t want anything to do with this event, if you’re a California resident and/or a California visitor, you pay for it. Taking the kids to DisneyLand (another supporter of the GLBT lifestyle with their “gay days”) and you stay in a hotel, you pay for it. SeaWorld? You pay for it. Those taxes go to pay for the police and security and for blocking off several blocks of San Francisco so the event can occur.

Concerned Women for America called it “shocking and offensive” that California taxpayers are forced to foot part of the bill for the Folsom Street Fair. The City of San Francisco sanctions the event by shutting down several city blocks and providing police for security.

A police lieutenant confirmed officers are on the clock during the event, not paid for by the organizers.

The Folsom Street Fair website also lists San Francisco’s environment department and its Grants for the Arts –which comes out of the hotel tax fund – as sponsors.

More hypocrisy from the left: Senator Larry Craig (a Republican) has been hung by his toenails for his alleged gay actions in a Minnesota airport. Of course, the loudest screamers are the Democrats. Senator Mark Foley faced the same villification. I’m NOT condoning Craig’s or Foley’s actions–not by a long shot. However, when it comes to something far worse in their own districts, Democrats praise it. Why do you suppose that is? BECAUSE THEY’RE NOTHING BUT HYPOCRITES, THAT’S WHY. In the same WorldNetDaily and CNSNEWS articles referenced above, you find this:

“Senator Larry Craig was arrested and driven out of the Senate for allegedly soliciting public ‘gay’ sex, yet during this event the city of San Francisco suspends the law and allows ‘gay’ men and women to parade the streets fully nude, many having sex – even group orgies – in broad daylight, while taxpayer funded police officers look on and do absolutely nothing.”

The group [Concerned Women of America] wants California’s elected officials – including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer – to “publicly condemn this unprovoked attack against Christ and His followers.

We see how Pelosi publicly condemned this unprovoked attack and this blatantly homosexual festival.

Personally, I don’t drink beer. However, if I did, Miller and it’s products would no longer be part of my shopping list. They were asked by Concerned Women of America, the Catholic League and a surprising voice, Stephen Bennett, to pull their sponsorship. Why do I say Stephen Bennett is a surprising voice? Because of this quote from the article at the Concerned Women of America site:

Stephen Bennett, a former homosexual who runs a ministry for those struggling to overcome same-sex attraction disorder, challenged mainstream gay groups to condemn the vile anti-Christian display. “I call upon the homosexual Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, GLSEN, and the Gay and Lesbian Task Force to publicly condemn this blatant mockery of Christians and Christianity by some within their community, and condemn this sick public display of immoral behavior,” he said. [Emphasis mine]

“Furthermore, Miller has a record of acceding to requests from various segments of the population that have objected to certain ads: it has bowed to the wishes of Muslims, African-American clergy, lawyers and feminists by pulling ads deemed offensive. The hypocrisy of the left is blatantly obvious. The appeasement mentality is blatantly obvious. You’re only valuable to the politicians if you are a fringe group insulting Christians.
